* Pregnant or intend to get pregnant
* Breast-feeding or intend to breast-feed

Chemically, Adipex-P is related to amphetamines. Adipex-P suppresses your appetite and could also increase your metabolism.

There have been only some short studies that have assessed the effectiveness of drugs such as Adipex-P. As per these studies, people using such medications have lost more weight when compared to people not using the medication. However, the difference between the two groups was small. The studies also claim that the effectiveness of these drugs for weight loss diminishes after the initial few weeks of usage.

The following are general pointers for the timing and procedure of taking Adipex-P:

* Adipex-P is available in capsule and tablet form. Usually, it is to be taken orally once a day, though some people may be advised to have it two times a day.
* Adipex-P must be taken prior breakfast or latest at one or two hours post breakfast.
* This drug should be had along with an appropriate diet. Adipex-P is meant to be taken with dieting.
* Adipex-P should not be taken at higher doses or more frequently than prescribed as it could result in dependence or addition.
* For this drug to be effective, it has to be has as per prescription.

* High blood pressure (known as hypertension)

* Coma
* Death.

Adipex-P capsules and tablets must be stored in an airtight container at room temperature and kept away from heat and moisture. Ensure to keep this drug and along with other medicines away from the reach of children.

Adipex - What to do in case of a missed dose?

In case you miss your scheduled Adipex-P dose, you can take the missed dose immediately on remembering. But in case it is already time for your next dose, do not take your missed dose and carry on with your usual schedule of medication. Never take a double dose.
